You receive 2.4 billion acts of goodness

Every single moment you are thinking of me!
How precious and wonderful to consider
that you cherish me constantly in your every thought!
O God, your desires toward me are more
than the grains of sand on every shore!
When I awake each morning, you’re still with me.

sand, thoughts, Gods, rejoice, thankfulness

I read Psalms 139 at least five times at the gym — I was on the elliptical machine. And it dawned on me that I can’t exhaust nor imagine on my own, all of God’s blessings in my life. Because God’s thinking creative thoughts about me every second.

As I drove home from the gym, I realized, “Hey, I should always have a thankful heart!” If he’s always thinking thoughts for my good every second, why do I worry that he isn’t working on my behalf? Or that he’s forgotten about me? Anytime I doubt he notices me or doesn’t care, I am believing a lie!

His thoughts about me go into the atmosphere and change the world I live in. Because his thoughts are creative — they do something.

What if acknowledging these thoughts through thankfulness — knowing he’s working on our behalf every second — taps into God’s thoughts in that moment? Perhaps having a thankful mind, aligns us to his mind?

Since he has a thought about us every second, we can’t afford to give space to negative thoughts about ourselves. Because it steals from knowing the new thought God has for us in that moment. We always have something to be thankful for.

So, now, I’m not talking about being idealistic or not seeing adversity. Like we are always walking in a garden of roses as if life is always spring. We experience four seasons including bone-chilling winter. So, his thoughts about us don’t prevent trials and adverse circumstances.

Instead, he uses adversity to usher in his creative plan. His thought isn’t adverse or negative, but the medium by which the thought gets executed into our reality might be.

Perhaps you’re throwing your hands up and wondering, “Why?”

We live in a fallen world. God works in this world, but he’s not controlled by it. He uses it for his glory. So, through adversity and trial, his redeeming plan is playing out.

While I’m enduring difficulty, I can thank him—not out of blind loyalty–but it’s my reality. Incredible blessings and goodness are constantly exerted on my behalf! And when I’m thankful, I’m aligned with his thoughts and this releases him to work in me. He’s already working circumstances and external forces around me, but he needs my cooperation to work in me.

For his plans far exceeds anything you can design on your own. The average human life expectancy (in the US) is 79 years. If God has a thought about you every second of those 79 years, he has over 2.4 billion thoughts about you. Every thought becomes a creative act, so you have experienced 2.4 billion acts of goodness in your life. So, none of our plans (made without him) can compete with his.

Can you see how much goodness God has already bestowed in your life that you’re not aware of? Yep.

So, if you allow all those God thoughts to become your thoughts and align with his plan, can you imagine how your life will play out? I don’t think I can because it overwhelms me. But what this revelation has done is open up Ephesians 3:20 even more! With God having at least 2.4 billion thoughts about me in a lifetime, how wild and abundant is his plan for my life?

Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.

This has elevated my game plan for daily living. Instead of complaining, why not thank God for the answer? And ask him, “What are your thoughts about me and the circumstance?” The problem isn’t the adverse circumstance, but the lens we’re looking through. So, what happens when we see through his eyes?

Do you have a testimony of how God turned an adverse situation around? Please share in Comments below. Thank you.
