You are the News

news, offensive, God's kingdom, Jesus, hope, good news

During worship this Sunday, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart that God is on the offensive.

I needed to hear that especially with the recent bombing in Brussels and attack in Pakistan, and issues facing the United States. Sometimes when I read or hear the news, I think defensively, God, what are you doing to respond to this?

Yet, I’ve got it wrong. God already went on the offensive the moment Adam and Eve sinned. He put into place a plan of redemption. So, Jesus is God’s offensive strategy to undo the works of the enemy and bring his life to this world.

Remember Jesus’s prayer?

“Our Father dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of your name be the center on which our lives turn.

Manifest your Kingdom realm, and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it is fulfilled in heaven.” (Matthew 6:9-10 TPT)

God’s will is for his kingdom to manifest in this world now. Not just when Jesus returns. Now.

So, God’s operating in the spirit constantly. Although this world here is under the dominion of the enemy, through Jesus, God has redeemed us from death to life, setting us free from the enemy’s control.

We are operating with Heaven’s dominion where God can work through us to bring Heaven to earth and destroy the works of the enemy.

You can see God’s handiwork all over the world:

Muslims in the Middle East are getting born again and some are having Jesus visitations. Youths around the nation and in the world are fasting, praying, and seeking God to use them to spread the gospel. Through the ministry, David’s Tent DC, 24-hour worship is taking place in our nation’s capital — it started September 11, 2015 and runs until November 8, 2016.

Yet, God’s doing many more things to bring His kingdom to the earth.

So, as we believers are Heaven’s offensive movement. Instead of looking to God with a despondent attitude, “What are you going to do about this?” We need to ask him, “What can I do?”

For your life is making a difference. You have no idea how you’re changing history by reaching out and loving those around you — in your family, and in your community, and in your job. No, you may not see the results immediately or you may not hear it on the local news, but in the spirit, you’re enforcing the Kingdom of God on the earth.

So maybe, we need to ask God, “What news do you want me to make today?”

What has God shown you about his kingdom? Please share in Comments below. Thank you.
