What Promise Are You Believing For?

Happy New Year!

This year I want to press into the promises of God. Not just the specific ones he’s given me — those are important, but the ones he promises to all believers.

What I’ve realized about these promises in the word is: they’re not just about us. It’s about manifesting Jesus in the earth. When the world sees the blessings of God poured upon us — blessings such as financial provision, supernatural health, abundant joy–they will see a manifestation of the Kingdom of God.

Consider what he did for his people throughout thousands of generations. He blessed them so that Jesus could be manifest through their lineage:

  • Abraham:

“I am El-Shaddai—‘God Almighty.’ Serve me faithfully and live a blameless life. I will make a covenant with you, by which I will guarantee to give you countless descendants.” (Genesis 17:1-2 NLT)

  • David:

“Your house and your kingdom will continue before me for all time, and your throne will be secure forever.” (2 Samuel 7:16 NLT)

  • Mary, Jesus’s mother:

“You will become pregnant with a baby boy and you are to name him Jesus. He will be supreme and will be known as the Son of the Highest. And the Lord God will enthrone him as King on his ancestor David’s throne. He will reign as King of Israel forever, and his reign will have no limit.” (Luke 1:31-33 TPT)

This promise of descendants, the seed, and the throne blessed their lives personally, but ushered in the supernatural gift of life in Jesus to the world. And our lives are a manifestation of this promise not just when we became born again, but as we walk our lives with God in a family relationship.

What these people possessed was faith in God. Through their faith, God could usher in his Son Jesus to the world. So, through our faith in God — not in our ability to believe God –Jesus is manifested through us to the lost.

So what are some of these promises that will manifest Jesus in our lives?

  • Provision: “Even the strong and the wealthy grow weak and hungry, But those who passionately pursue the Lord will never lack any good thing.” (Psalms 34: 10 TPT)
  • Deliverance: “Yet, when holy lovers of God cry out to him with all their hearts, the Lord will hear them and come to rescue them from all their troubles. (Psalms 34:17 TPT)
  • Prosperity (body, soul, mind, and spirit), favor, and blessings upon your descendants: “How do I live in the holy fear of God? Show me the right path to take. Then prosperity and favor will be my portion, and my descendants will inherit all that is good.” (Psalms 25: 12b-13 TPT)

So, I encourage you to talk to God about the promises he’s made to you specifically and about promises in the Word that you want to see manifest in your life. He wants to pour these blessings upon your life! So, this isn’t a selfish conversation, but one he wants to have with you. As you walk in faith in him, you will reap a harvest for you, your family, and the lost around you.

How about you? What promises have you received from the Lord? Please share in Comments below. Thank you.
