And you now belong to him in the realm of true holiness. (Ephesians 4:24b TPT)

Do you know where you come from?

Jesus.

Anything contrary to this truth is a lie.

“But I don’t feel like Jesus. I’m full of shame. Regret. Unforgiveness. Fear.”

All of those negative emotions are rooted in lies, preaching you’re not God’s.

“But these thoughts don’t stop. What if I’m too messed up for God to help me?”

That’s the lie. You’re not too messed up for God. Because the truth says:

“God has re-created you all over again in his perfect righteousness…” (That’s the start of Eph. 4:24).

We were re-created not out of a sinful nature (that died), but reborn in his perfect righteousness.

Yet, does our mouth align with that truth?

If not, I’ve got great news!

You can renew your mind with truth.

“So discard every form of dishonesty and lying so that you will be known as one who always speaks the truth, for we all belong to one another in one body.” (Ephesians 4:25 TPT)

We are all in a family once we become born again. We’re not alone! Even if you feel alone, you’re not. You belong to God as a member of the Body of Christ.

So, when a member of the Body doesn’t understand who he or she is, it affects the Body.

It’s important to walk in truth about who you are — because what you say (hence believe) about yourself affects the Body.

In our western culture, it’s not as obvious because we tend to see ourselves as individuals with individual rights and identity. We don’t always identity as a family or a whole unit.

But in God’s kingdom, we aren’t independent units, but interdependent family member of the Body that’s attached to Christ, the head.

We need one another. As you walk in truth that you’re a maturing son or daughter of God, you can help others in the Body. You’ll recognize what others’ need and share truth to help them mature as well.

But when you’re drowning in lies and living below your inheritance, you’re not fulfilling your potential and helping others in the Body.

So, for your sake and for the Body, start today to disempower lies that don’t align with who you are as the re-created son or daughter of God, free of a sin nature!

Start today by speaking truth about yourself. Sing, speak, and pray the Word!

Ephesians is a great book to speak out loud:

  • “All because he sees us wrapped into Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3 TPT)
  • “He chose us to be his very own, joining us to himself even before he laid the foundation of the universe!” (Ephesians 1:4a TPT)
  • “Because of his great love, he ordained us as one with Christ from the beginning, so that we would be seen as holy in his eyes with unstained innocence.” (Ephesians 1:4b TPT)

Verse 4 is loaded with treasures to speak over yourself!

  • “Same love he has for his Beloved one, Jesus, he has for us!” (verse 6)
  • Since we are now joined to Christ, we have been given the treasures of salvation by his blood– the total cancellation of our sins — all because of the cascading riches of his grace.” (verse 7)
  • This superabundant grace is already powerfully working in us and flooding into every part of our being, releasing within us all forms of wisdom and practical understanding.” (verse 8)
  • This is why God selected and ordained us to be his own inheritance through our union with Christ!” (verse 11a)
  • “Before we were even born, he gave us our destiny; that we would fulfill the plan of God who always accomplishes every purpose and plan in his heart.” (verse 11b)

Actually, the rest of verse 1 is loaded with truth of who Christ is and who we are!

So, as members of God and the Body, you are invaluable. We need you to know who you are!

So, start today by speaking truth from the Word. Whenever shame, guilt, fear, or anything contrary to God’s nature tries to bombard your mind, speak truth to disengage its power. Everytime. For you are a son or daughter of God. That lie empowered by negative emotion is trying to steal your inheritance and tell you that you’re a slave. But by reading and reciting the first verse of Ephesians, you can identify that as a lie.

You’ll discover that after a while, you’re walking in more of who you really are, and we the Body will benefit as well!

What lie has God delivered you from? And how has it changed your life? Please share in Comments below. Thank you.
