Freedom in Truth

This past Valentine’s Day was the best one I’ve experienced.

Why?

For God is spirit, and he longs to have sincere worshippers who worship and adore him in the realm of the Spirit and in truth. (John 4:24 TPT)

Truth is setting me free where I can receive.

I’m going through a course called SOZO–which I’ll share more later–that’s helping me learn truth about the Godhead: Father God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. It’s appropriate that the front cover of the book says that SOZO is, “A journey into Freedom with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.”*

For I’m experiencing this journey into truth. God has exposed more lies than anytime in my life. And he has replaced these lies with his truth about himself (including his Son and the Holy Spirit), about myself, and about others that it’s transforming my mind, thus my life. (Romans 12:1-2).

The greatest gift I’ve received from this course is his love. It’s not that he didn’t love me as much before, but my heart was clogged up with lies about him, about myself, and about others.

See, his truth acts as a chemical, destroying the lies clogging up my body, soul, and mind. Now, the water of his love can flow more freely to and through me.

So, this V-day was special because I wanted to express my appreciation and love. For in the past, I would become anxious especially the days leading up to Feb. 14th, knowing I didn’t have a romantic interest to share the day with. I’d see the shelves on the stores filled with V-day gifts and cards, reminding me that I would be left out.

Not this year! I woke up telling Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, “Happy Valentine’s Day!” I was excited to share this day with them.

And I was like a giddy schoolgirl waiting for my loved ones to receive the flowers that would be delivered sometime that day. By the time, they all received their flowers, I was basking in a cloud of joy and gratitude. Gratitude that I have loved ones to share the day with.

I also received. God gave me a red rose of intimacy. Jesus gave me a white rose of friendship. The Holy Spirit gave me a yellow rose of restoration. (These colors might symbolize something different for you, demonstrating how individualized the Godhead is with us.)

I received precious cards from my parents, sister, best friend, and an aunt. I felt special! My bestie gave me flowers and sweets. They were all awesome expressions of their love for me, and I received them with a greater openness than I have before.

Perhaps, V-Day might become one of my favorite “holidays”.

It’s incredible what happens when we receive God’s activating love in our hearts especially when lies get crushed under the weight of his truth. It transforms us, where we receive his love in the areas that need it. And this allows us to love God, ourselves, and other people as well.

How about you? What truth has the Godhead revealed to you? Please share in Comments below. Thank you.
